Smoothies, a breakfast highlight
We’re getting good with new smoothies recipes!
If you already visited us more than once in the past you will have noticed that we are doing our best to develop the breakfast moment accordingly to our guests’ tastes and our own travel experience and we really love to do it!
This season for instance we have a new entry in the menu, our customized fruit smoothies. These homemade treats are all natural and free of preservatives. Nothing healthier!
Depending on our guests’ taste, mood, preferences and the available fruits the options are endless: berries, banana, kiwi, apple…
Some useful info
The health of a smoothie depends on its ingredients.
Many smoothies include large servings of fruits and vegetables which are recommended in a healthful diet. However, too many sweet fruits can lead to too much sugar.
Similarly, ingredients such as protein powders, sweeteners, or ice cream are often used in smoothie recipes, but are not necessarily healthful and this is why we do not use them.
Smoothies include dietary fiber and so are thicker than fruit juice, with a consistency similar to a milkshake. Fiber makes smoothies more healthful than fruit juice alone.
Our go-to smoothies recipe for two big glasses
- 1 cup whole milk yogurt
- 1/2 cup strawberries/blueberries/cherries… (you can also use frozen berries)
- 1 apple/kiwi/pear/apricot… (you can also use fit juices)
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon of raw sugar or one spoon honey
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- tablespoon of Nutella/dulce de leche/peanut butter
- ice cubes
Toss everything into a blender, blend and enjoy!
My favorite smoothie combination is raspberry with banana, honey and Nutella. I simply love it! And your favorite smoothie flavor?
P.S. There’s no freezer in the hotel, but at home I also make popsicles simply pouring the smoothie into popsicle molds. Delicious! I should actually arrange something similar for the hotel guests too… maybe for an afternoon break?
