A relaxed afternoon experience, Thursday to Sunday, April to November

Many guests come to Levanto thinking of it as “just the gateway” to the Cinque Terre. Then they check out and realise they never actually explored Levanto itself. That feels like a small travel tragedy, because our town has a beautiful medieval heart, full of stories, quiet corners, and details you only notice when you slow down.

That is why we created our Levanto Medieval Walking Tour, a guided stroll through the historic centre that ends in the best possible way: a wine tasting in a local vineyard, with Ligurian snacks and the kind of atmosphere you cannot bottle.

What you will see on the walk

This is not a long hike, and it is not a rushed “tick-the-box” tour. It is an easy, story-driven walk through Levanto’s most charming historical spots, including:

  • the narrow medieval alleys and small squares
  • the ancient channel harbour linked to the old Republic of Genoa
  • the Medieval Loggia
  • the distinctive Church of Sant’Andrea
  • local curiosities and traditions you would probably miss on your own

It is the sort of tour that helps you understand what you are looking at for the rest of your stay.

The best part: wine tasting in the vineyard

After the walk, we head to Sementia, an organic vineyard right in the medieval centre. Here you will taste two local wines paired with delicious Ligurian snacks. It is informal, authentic, and very Levanto.

We then finish the experience in La Compera, one of the loveliest little squares in town, perfect for that final “this is why we travel” moment.

When and where

  • April to November
  • Every Thursday to Sunday, in the afternoon
  • Duration: about 1 hour (plus tasting time)
  • In case of light rain, the tour still works, just bring an umbrella

Meeting point is confirmed at booking. Depending on the day, it will be either at Oasi Boutique Hotel or in town (easy to reach on foot).

Price

  • €35 per person for Oasi guests
  • €45 per person for non-residents

Places are limited, and the vineyard visit requires advance planning, so we recommend booking early.

What to bring

  • comfortable shoes (there are cobbled lanes and a few steps)
  • your phone or camera (you will use it)
  • a small water bottle
  • an umbrella if the forecast looks moody

How to book

Book at least one day in advance through our reception, or simply message us via WhatsApp using the chat button on our website. We will confirm the exact time, meeting point, and availability.

Why we recommend it

Because it gives you something rare: a real sense of place. The Cinque Terre are unforgettable, but Levanto is where you can breathe, wander, and feel the Riviera’s everyday rhythm. Add a glass of local wine in a vineyard tucked inside the medieval village, and you have an experience that stays with you.

If you are staying with us between April and November, choose one afternoon and let Levanto surprise you.
