Nativity scenes in Cinque Terre
For years, nativity scenes in Cinque Terre illuminated the whole East Italian Riviera and framed the valley of Levanto. During the Christmas holidays, the National Park and Levanto organise guided tours to discover and admire them.
Levanto nativity scenes in the valley
There are two scheduled appointments for the free guided tour to the Nativity set up in the churches of the valley, and both include local products tastings, and music:
- December 26th
- January 1st
The bus will depart at 2.30 pm from Via Jacopo, right opposite the post office. It will stop in Groppo, Montale, San Gottardo and Pastine. The return is scheduled for 7 pm.
The illuminated Nativity Scene in Manarola
Mario Andreaoli’s nativity scene… thanks to his determination and passion, thousands of people experience the miracle of his giant Nativity Scene every year.
Thousands of lights give life to more than 300 characters scattered throughout Mario Andreoli’s terraced hill, which overlooks Manarola and the Ligurian Sea.
Manarola Nativity Scene is inaugurated every year on December 8th and can be visited every afternoon from 5:30 p.m. until mid-January. We recommend that you take an earlier train to stroll around the village upon your arrival and take your time to enjoy its beauty before heading up to the church esplanade, which is the best viewpoint.
We can arrange guided hikes and tours to the Manarola Nativity Scene from December 8th to January 6th. Do not hesitate to ask us upon arrival or in your booking notes!
The nativity scene in the cellar in Riomaggiore
This nativity scene in Riomaggiore is built by fans of this ancient art and could not be set elsewhere! Every year, they give birth, with poor materials recovery, ingenious mechanical gadgets, and lots of imagination, to one of the most picturesque nativity scenes in the whole region.
