Pack your sandals, because July is when this stretch of coast properly comes alive.

Between concerts on the piazza, saints' day processions, guided walks through the Park and a small literary festival tucked into the hills, there is genuinely something on most evenings this month. Here is our local selection, organised by area, so you can plan your stay around what suits you.

In Levanto

Levanto Music Festival, Amfiteatrof
Running right through July, in Piazza del Popolo, the Auditorium Ospitalia del Mare and the Area ex Cava. Expect vocal groups, chamber music, world music and a genre-hopping programme, including a Brazilian music evening on 29 July and a Trentino Festival choir exchange on 26 July.

56th Festa del Mare
From 22 to 25 July, Levanto's biggest religious and folk celebration in honour of San Giacomo Apostolo. Expect a historical procession in period costume, flag throwers, a concert by the Città di Levanto wind orchestra, and fireworks over the sea on the closing night.

Levanto Incontra
A series of open-air talks on the steps of the Church of S. Andrea, with well-known Italian writers and journalists, including Beppe Severgnini (11 July), Federico Rampini (17 July) and Paolo Crepet (24 July).

Festa del Turista, Sagra Croce Verde and the weekly disco parties
Levanto keeps its squares busy throughout the month, with beach parties, ballroom-dancing evenings, a solidarity market, and the Croce Verde food fair (10 and 11 July) rounding out the programme.

Un mare di discorsi
A small, thoughtful festival of talks and conversations curated by Dario Vergassola, moving between Riomaggiore, Manarola, Monterosso and Fossola di Tramonti through the summer. Worth checking the programme if you enjoy books, journalism and a good story told well by the sea.

2026 Cinque Terre Walking Park
The National Park's calendar of guided trekking, snorkelling and vineyard visits continues through July, including sunset tours, geology walks along the Via dell'Amore and themed hikes around Monterosso's lemon groves. Some appointments are included with the Cinque Terre Card; others are free.

Festa del ritrovamento della Pietà
On 7 July, at the Sanctuary of Soviore above Monterosso, a quieter, more traditional appointment for those who want to see a different side of the villages beyond the beaches.

In Framura

FraleMura Festival
From 24 to 26 July, three days of free theatre, music, comedy and conversation in the hills above Framura, opening this year with performer Germano Lanzoni. A lovely excuse for a short detour if you fancy something a little different from a beach evening.

In Bonassola

Bonassola keeps a full summer calendar of markets, live music evenings and local sagre, though the exact July dates were still being finalised at the time of writing. The tourist office and the Comune's noticeboards are the most reliable place to check once you arrive, or ask us at the front desk and we will point you in the right direction.
