Welcome to the Oasi Vacation Rental in Vernazza

You have made a lovely choice. This flat is not just an address in Vernazza; it is my grandparents' house, the one where I spent the happiest hours of my childhood, and we are genuinely glad to share it with you.
Below you will find everything you need for a smooth stay: how to reach the flat, how to get in, the practical details of the apartment, and a few honest suggestions on where to eat and what to do in the village. Take your time to read it before you arrive, and keep it handy during your stay.
Getting here and settling in
Our reception desk is based at the Oasi Eco Boutique Hotel in Levanto, but do not worry: we are always reachable on WhatsApp at +39 0187 807356 for anything you need, from a restaurant booking to a train timetable. Text us on WhatsApp, and we will take care of it.
The apartment is in Via Gavino 22, in the pink house next to the post office, right in front of the third and final bridge crossing the canal towards the houses on the other side.
Here is the map to guide you there: https://www.oasihotel.eu/files/local-map-and-hiking-trails-vernazza.pdf
- Enter through the grey gate. It is always unlocked. There is a lever inside to open it.
- Climb the 5 or 6 steps and walk around the building.
- The main door is the green one on your left. The flat is on the first floor.

The key is in the "Oasi Vacation Rental" key safe box, code 0311. Slide the shutter board to reveal the dials, rotate them to the code, and push the black button on the left of the dials.
Once you have taken the key, close the cover and mix the dials to protect the code, then close the shutter board again to ensure water resistance.
Please put the key back in the box when you check out.
-
Check-in from 3:00 pm. If you would like to arrive earlier, message us on the day, and we will do our best, though we cannot always guarantee it.
-
Check out by 10:00 am. A late check-out until 4:00 pm can sometimes be arranged for €10 per extra hour: ask us the evening before or on the morning of departure.
The flat
The apartment is 45 square metres on the first floor, with a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a small private balcony. It is not a hotel room: it is your own independent corner of the village, with the freedom to come and go, cook a simple meal, or open a bottle of local Vermentino on the balcony in the evening.
If you would like the full details of the flat, including photographs and specifications, you can find them here: https://www.oasihotel.eu/room/flat-in-vernazza
It is not a grand terrace, but it is a private outdoor space of your own, ideal for a slow morning coffee, a pause after a day of walking, or a glass of wine before dinner. In a village like Vernazza, where so much of life happens outside, even a small balcony changes the rhythm of a stay.
Lots of my sweetest childhood memories include this small outdoor space...
The flat is equipped with a Smeg automatic coffee machine. Switch it on with the left-hand side button, then choose your drink from the control panel on top: from a short ristretto to a classic espresso or a more international americano.
If any icon lights up on the panel, it is simply signalling something that needs your attention, and the fix is usually quick. For a full walkthrough, including a short video, see: https://www.oasihotel.eu/smeg-coffee-machine
Wifi, TV and the practical things
Wifi network "Oasi Vacation Rental", password enjoyrelax. And we mean it.
Italian channels and pre-installed apps, including Netflix and NowTV, are already active in your language. If it does not connect, unplug the TV from the wall for a minute and plug it back in. It works every time.
If you are travelling by car, we hold a parking space for you in the basement of the Oasi Eco Boutique Hotel in Levanto. From there, Vernazza is a seven-minute train ride away, and it is by far the easiest way to arrive: driving into the village itself is not recommended, and parking near Vernazza is very limited.
If you have not booked your spot yet, let us know and we will reserve it and let you know where to park.

Small pets are allowed on request in room, at 10€ extra per day (beds and bowls provided)
Useful local information
the local administration applies a tourist tax of €3 per person per night, for guests aged 10 and over, for the first 10 nights of the stay.
Vernazza has a fairly precise collection schedule, and we would ask you to respect it as our neighbours do:
- Organic: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, at sunrise
- Plastic and metals: Wednesday, at sunrise
- Paper: Friday, at sunrise
- Undifferentiated: Monday only, at sunrise
You can leave your bags on the street, alongside everyone else's, from 8:00 pm until midnight the evening before collection. Glass can be taken to the bins behind the train station at any time.
Where to eat in Vernazza
Vernazza is small, so booking ahead genuinely matters, especially for dinner. These are the places we actually recommend to our guests:
Gianni Franzi, our pick. A longstanding local favourite, with tables right on the main square. Traditional fish dishes and homemade fresh pasta. €€ | Closed Wednesday | +39 0187 812228
Ristorante Belforte. Set inside an old lookout tower, with the sea breeze coming through as you eat. Seafood and fresh pasta. €€€ | Closed Thursday | +39 0187 812222
La Torre. Family-run and unpretentious, just above the village with sweeping views. Classic Ligurian cooking, simple and fresh. €€ | Closed Wednesday | +39 0187 812265

Experiences we recommend in Vernazza
If you would like to go a little deeper than a meal, two experiences in the village are genuinely worth your time.
Cinque Sensi, open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 20:00, offers a pesto mortar class where you learn to grind pesto the traditional way while tasting Cinque Terre wines, cheeses, focaccia and more (from €50 per person), as well as wine tastings paired with Ligurian bites such as anchovies, burrata and cured meats.
Eroico Vino, its sister experience, takes you on a panoramic trek through the vineyards with winemaker Luca, followed by four wine tastings and a Ligurian snack (around 3 hours, €50 per person, suitable footwear required; book 24 hours in advance).
Both should be booked at least a day in advance. Full details: https://www.oasihotel.eu/blog/discover-the-cinque-sensi-eroico-vino-experiences-in-vernazza
Exploring Vernazza and the Park, responsibly
Vernazza sits inside the Cinque Terre National Park, and it is a beautiful place precisely because it has stayed small, steep and a little fragile. A few resources from the Park are worth knowing about:
- The Park's interactive map, for trails, points of interest and opening times: https://www.parconazionale5terre.it/map.php
- The Emporio, showcasing local products such as Cinque Terre DOC wine, Sciacchetrà, extra virgin olive oil, honey and Monterosso's salted anchovies: https://www.parconazionale5terre.it/emporio.php
- A short visitor questionnaire to help the Park better understand and manage tourist flows more sustainably. If you have a couple of minutes, filling it in genuinely helps: https://www.parconazionale5terre.it/questionario.php
The Park has also been working for some years on the Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenibile (CETS), a European framework that recognises protected areas, and increasingly the businesses within them, for managing tourism in a way that respects the local environment and community. You can read more here: https://www.parconazionale5terre.it/pagina.php?id=493. As it happens, we are currently working towards this same recognition for this very flat, as part of the broader sustainability commitment you can read about on our values page: https://www.oasihotel.eu/our-values
Before setting out on any trail, always check current conditions: some paths close after bad weather, and closed does mean closed.
Any questions?
Message us anytime on WhatsApp at +39 0187 807356, or write to info@oasihotel.eu. We are a small team, but we are quick, and we would rather you ask us something twice than worry about it once.
Enjoy the flat, enjoy the village, and enjoy the quieter hours of Vernazza that most visitors never get to see.
